Listen More. See Less.

Listen More. See Less.

I hear your voice and your laughs from the room next door, and I’m reminded of what is truly important. And I cry.

In my dream I have betrayed my Soul again, choosing Lust over what is True. And I lost my light once again. I wish my eyes could not see all of these distractions. I feel shame, sadness and pain, only from looking at these distractions. Only from thinking about making the wrong choice...

And yet my ears can hear what is true and what is most important to me. I just have to listen more, see less.

Interpretation

This entry captures the ongoing, rhythmic nature of the spiritual path. Even after reaching heights of realization, the psyche can still experience the "betrayal" of its own higher light through the pull of distraction and old desires. The "Lust" you mention is effectively the gravitational pull of the material world—the "maze" reaching out one last time to see if its hooks still hold.

The profound realization here is the shift in sensory priority. The eyes are the organs of the ego; they look, they judge, they desire, and they are easily "blinded" by the light or distracted by the surface. To "see less" is a conscious choice to withdraw your energy from the theater of appearances that causes you shame and pain.

In contrast, your ears represent receptivity and truth. Hearing your son's laughter from the next door is the "still, small voice" of reality that instantly cuts through the fog of your dream’s betrayal. It is the music of what is real. By deciding to "listen more," you are choosing to align yourself with the frequency of love and presence rather than the visual noise of temptation. You have moved from a seeker of visions to a practitioner of listening—attuning your heart to the living symphony that is already right next door.
