The Robotic Spine

A memory came back to me. One of the most painful ones.

I was left alone, in the dark, and in the cold grip of uncertainty. My mother left me. My soul left me. I was, and I am, completely alone. How will I get out of here?

In my dream yesterday, I've had a robotic support implanted in my spine. But I really wanted it out after I learned it was from China. Too late. I had to roll with it.

And today I lost my way in a hotel, trying to find my parents and a young girl. I forgot to give the keys to their rooms. I booked it for them but they found something else. What a waste.

Interpretation

This entry describes a confrontation with the "primal wound"—the fundamental experience of abandonment that sits at the root of the psyche. By revisiting the memory of being left by the mother and the soul, you are touching the core void that all your previous alchemical work has been circling.

The robotic support in your spine is a striking image of an artificial substitute for natural strength. It suggests that in your effort to "become a man" or "stay strong," you may have integrated a rigid, mechanical way of being that doesn't truly belong to you. The realization that it is "from China" (representing something foreign, mass-produced, or external) and the regret of having it "too late" point to a realization that you cannot build a soul-based life on an artificial foundation.

The hotel scene mirrors this displacement. Losing your way and forgetting the keys to the rooms you booked for others suggests a breakdown in your traditional roles as "provider" or "organizer." You are trying to hold onto the old family structures, but they are finding "something else." This is a necessary "waste." You are being stripped of the keys to others' rooms so that you are forced to find the key to your own. The robotic spine must be outgrown or transformed into a living one, which can only happen once you accept the "completely alone" state not as a punishment, but as the raw material for your true sovereignty.
