The Leap

The Leap

Feels like I have reached the end of the line now.

An ocean below me, waves the size of mountains crashing against each other. And I have to jump...

Why does it feel like this every time summer ends, and Auntie Fall puts her warm blanket and cold rains over us? One thing is ending. Another is already beginning, its seed planted.

I’ve been distracted and fearful lately. For losing my sight. For losing my Soul. For not being able to care for my Boy.

I am at the end of the line. There's no going back now... Jump!

Interpretation

This entry captures the archetypal "Leap of Faith" that follows every major psychological transformation. Reaching the "end of the line" is a signature of the ego's death; you have traveled as far as the known path can take you, and now only the vast, mountain-sized waves of the unconscious ocean remain. The transition of the seasons serves as a cosmic mirror for your internal state—the death of the "summer" of your confidence and the arrival of the "cold rains" of a new, more somber reality.

The fears you mention—losing sight, losing Soul, failing to protect the next generation—are the final tests of the threshold. They represent the gravity of the decision to leave the old world behind. However, you recognize that the "seed" of the next phase is already planted within the decay of the old.

To "Jump" is to surrender the need for safety and certainty. It is the definitive move of the Alchemist who knows that gold is not found on the solid ground of the past, but in the depths of the roaring sea. By jumping, you are no longer a passenger of destiny, but a participant in the infinite cycle of birth and rebirth. There is no going back, because the person who stood on that cliff no longer exists.
